Shoaf Sets Yough School Rushing Record In Winning 49-38 Shootout At Southmoreland 

Alverton, Pa. - Yough's Dustin Shoaf carried the mail 43 times in setting a new school single game rushing record with 428 yards as the Cougars beat Southmoreland 49-38 at Southmoreland's Russ Grimm Field. The Cougars' previous record of 401 yards was held by Benny Hoffer. Shoaf scored two rushing touchdowns in the first half, added three more in the second half, and tossed a second half touchdown pass to Russell Pytlak. Chanze Spoonhoward also rushed for a first half score for Yough. Southmoreland matched Yough's first two touchdowns before the Cougars took a 21-17 lead to the locker room at halftime and never looked back. Southmoreland's Jaden Datz rushed for three touchdowns in the Senior Night loss for the Scotties. Yough improves to 2-4 in conference, 2-7 overall. Southmoreland is still looking for their first win at 0-6 in conference, 0-8 overall.
