Greater Latrobe's Parker Berk tops the field at 2025 WCCA Boys Golf Championship

Greater Latrobe senior Parker Berk shot a 1-under-par 71, the only player to score under par, to take the gold medal at the 2025 Westmoreland County Coaches Association Boys Golf Championship on Thursday, September 11, at Latrobe Elks Golf Club. Berk joins fellow Wildcat golfers Jared Stein in 2019 and Brady Pevarnik in 2018 as recent WCCA champions.

Finishing behind Berk were Kiski Area's Max Mottura and Belle Vernon's Jordan Mocello at even-par 72. Mottura, the 2024 champion, was awarded the second place medal in a scorecard-matching tiebreaker. Latrobe's Jack Sacriponte finished 4th, Norwin's Riley Shaffer 5th, and Brady Jankowski 6th, all with 73. Rounding out the medalists were Franklin Regional's Dylan Mauser and Greensburg Salem's Luke Sikora with 74, while Penn-Trafford's Jake Lenart and Franklin Regional's Colin Holt finished with 76.

Kiski Area defended their 2024 team championship with 389, beating Latrobe's 390 to retain the 3A team champion's trophy. Norwin edged Franklin Regional 396-398 for third place. In class 2A, Greensburg Salem's 415 total won the trophy over Ligonier Valley's 430 and GCC with 438.

Participating schools were Belle Vernon Area, Burrell, Derry Area, Franklin Regional, Greater Latrobe, Greensburg Central Catholic, Greensburg Salem, Hempfield Area, Jeannette, Kiski Area, Kiski School, Ligonier Valley, Mount Pleasant, Norwin, Penn-Trafford, Southmoreland, and Valley.
