GCC's Alayna Stawovy wins gold at 2025 WCCA Girls Golf Championship

Greensburg Central Catholic senior Alayna Stawovy shot a 1-over-par 38, two better than teammate Kennedy Kelly's round of 40, to take top honors at the 2025 Westmoreland County Coaches Association Girls Golf Championship on Thursday, September 4, at Champion Lakes Golf Resort in Bolivar. Stawovy joins a large group of past GCC golfers who have won gold medals at the WCCA Championship.

Finishing just behind the GCC pair was Norwin’s Adalena Robb at 41. Franklin Regional teammates Gianna Johnson and Athena Neuschwander were next at 43, with 2023 winner Johnson claiming the 4th place medal via a scorecard tie-breaker. Rounding out the medalists from 6 to 10 were Latrobe’s Gia Petrazio with 46, Kat DeVito of Hempfield with 48, Ligonier Valley’s Addy Witcoski with 48, Hempfield’s Hailey Uhrinek with 49, and Victoria Tepper of Mount Pleasant with 49.

Stawovy and Kelly also led the way to Greensburg Central Catholic winning the Class 2A team trophy with a score of 183. Franklin Regional claimed the 3A team title with a score of 194. Hempfield Area (204), Norwin (208), and Southmoreland (210) finished third through fifth overall in team score.

The 2025 WCCA Boys Golf Championship will be contested Thursday, September 11 at Latrobe Elks Golf Cub.
