And the Fan Poll winners are...

Hempfield vs Greensburg Salem and Derry vs Latrobe Games Top Our Week Zero Fan Poll.  

Westmoreland County, Pa.  - Fans from Hempfield, Greensburg Salem, Derry, and Latrobe can break out the face paint, baby powder, and beach balls. Their fans cast the most votes in our Twitter poll to decide which games will have photo coverage from WesternPAsports.com in Week Zero games played August 25. Our photographers will be at your games to photograph all the game action, as well as capturing the action in the stands as fans and student sections cheer their teams on to victory. We have something special planned for fans... more on that below. 

In a poll that lasted 5 days and attracted 944 votes, early leader Hempfield vs Greensburg Salem finished with 44%, holding off a surge by runner-up game Derry vs Latrobe with 42%. The Norwin vs Penn-Trafford finished out of the running this time with 14%, but those fans can expect to see our cameras at one of their school's games as the season goes on.  

Shortly after Friday evening's games have concluded, we will post some of our best game action photos on this site, along with a short summary and the final score. The following day, after we have combed through 1000 to 1500 photos that we take at a typical game, we will post a large gallery from the rest of the action that happened at the game, including players who aren't always in the perfect spot to get photographed when a big play happens. In addition to players who handle the ball, you might find photos of linemen, special teams players, post-play reactions, or anything else that makes a nice photo included in these larger galleries. If you see something you like, you can purchase photo prints or digital downloads right from the gallery. Photos can be shared on social media too, so be sure to check these larger galleries out if your favorite player isn't on the Friday night post. 

And for the fans and student sections, each week we will have a special gallery called "Bleacher View" that will post on our site Monday night after your game. Bleacher View will be photos of fans from our previous week games, taken during pre-game, time outs, halftime, or any time there is a break in the action on the field and we can turn our lenses on you. We know that the fans in Westmoreland County get pretty creative with costumes and theme nights, so we'll do our best to showcase it. Look for us at your game and look for your photos in Bleacher View, Monday evenings on our website. Thanks to all who voted and followed us in our first week of live operations. We plan to get out to cover as many schools as possible, and not just for football. When at all possible, we will look for games that feature two local teams playing each other.
