Latrobe Girls Stronger in OT to Beat Penn Hills at Home

Latrobe and Penn Hills girls battled back-and-forth for four quarters and still couldn't crown a winner. But the Lady Wildcats were just a bit better than the Lady Indians in the overtime period as Latrobe beat Penn Hills 54-48 in a Class 6A Section 2 contest at Latrobe.

Penn Hills took a 25-21 lead into the locker room at halftime and led by 6 after three quarters. But the Lady Wildcats turned a big fourth quarter into a 44-41 lead, only to have Penn Hills tie the game at 44 just before regulation time expired. Three-pointers by Shelby Wetzel and Laura Graytok help Latrobe pull away in the overtime period to remain undefeated in section play. Graytok led all scoring with 26 and Wetzel added 9 for the victors. Adia Brisker topped Penn Hills with 22 as Ariana Dunson added 14, including the clutch 3-pointer that sent the game into overtime. 

Latrobe is 10-2 overall, 5-0 in section games. Penn Hills drops to 8-6 overall, 2-3 in section play.
