Hempfield Baseball comes from behind in sixth to beat Penn-Trafford 7-3

Penn-Trafford took a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth before Hempfield exploded for six runs, five of them with two outs, as the Spartans came back to beat the Warriors 7-3 at home. After opening their half of the sixth with a double and a walk, Tyler Wiederstein singled to left field to score Justin Wright and cut the Warriors lead to 3-2. Hempfield then loaded the bases with no outs before Penn-Trafford reliever Maclean Maund retired two batters in a row and looked like he would get out of the inning with the lead. But Reed Hipps singled to score Luke Hudson for the tying run, then the top of Hempfield's batting order went to work. Nick DiAndreth reached on an error as two runs scored, then Isaiah DiAndreth drove in two more runs with a base hit to center field to make it 7-3. Penn-Trafford put one runner on base in the seventh but it wasn't enough to mount a comeback.   

Reed Hipps went 3 for 3 for the Spartans, with Isaiah DiAndreth, Tyler Wiederstein, and Justin Wright all with a double. Mario Disso went 3 for 4 for the Warriors with Zach Mancz and Anthony Sherwin racking up doubles. Hempfield had 11 hits to Penn-Trafford's 9. Both teams recorded two errors.
