Yough Girls Lacrosse Celebrates Senior Night with 20-5 Win over Greensburg Salem 

Yough posted 10 different players onto the scoresheet with goals as they celebrated Senior Night by defeating Greensburg Salem 20-5 on Wednesday, April 18, in a girls lacrosse game at Yough's Cougar Mountain Stadium.

Greensburg Salem came out of the gate quickly with a Mackenzie Soriano goal 37 seconds into the first half. Little did anyone know at the time that it would be over 24 minutes before they scored again just prior to the end of the first half. In between, the Lady Cougars dropped 10 unanswered goals on the Lady Lions, starting with Sydney Murray's equalizer for Yough only six seconds after the Lions opening goal. Then Yough quickly ran up a five goal lead in just two minutes, with scores by Murray, Cassidy Glesk, Sabrina Hodge, and Ryelee Overly. The Lady Cougars continued to fill the Lions net over the final twenty minutes of the half, as Renee Patricio, Murray, Becca Ghion, and Laurel Bachy scored goals. Autumn Sarsfield's goal for Greensburg Salem in the final 30 seconds made the score 10-2 at halftime.

The second half started with Renee Patricio's third of the game 30 seconds after the faceoff. The Lions came back with a quick pair of goals, again by Soriano and Sarsfield, and narrowed their deficit to 12-4. But Yough got the lead back to 10 points with a pair of goals with 18 minutes left to play. A Lady Lions goal by Kiera Flanigan brought their total to five before Yough closed with six goals as the clock ran for the final 9 minutes, capped by Patricio burying the final point for Yough as the final horn sounded with the final score of 20-5.

Sydney Murray and Renee Patricio led all scoring with 4 each, and Becca Ghion added a hat trick for Yough. Mackenzie Soriano and Autumn Sarsfield led Greensburg Salem with two each. Krystal Schweinberg picked up the win in goal for the Lady Cougars and Kylee Stone handled net minding duty for the Lady Lions. 

Prior to the game, Yough honored the seniors from both teams, including 8 players for the Lady Cougars.
