Greensburg Central Catholic shuts out St. Joseph 8-0 in Boys Soccer action.

Greensburg Central Catholic senior Nate Ward scored four goals to lead the Centurions past St. Joseph in WPIAL Class 1A Section 2 action at home on Thursday night Sept. 05, 2019.

Centurion freshman Carlo Denis started the scoring for GCC when he beat Spartan goalkeeper Mason Hurlbut at the 31:28 mark of the first half.

A minute and a half later he added his second goal making the score 2-0. 

Denis pressured the Spartan defense throughout the evening and added a second half goal as well.

The first of Ward’s four goals came on a penalty kick in the first half. He would then add three in the second half, including the final goal of the night. 

GCC Junior Dylan Sebek also scored the Centurions in the second half.
 
The Centurions relied on two goal keepers to keep the visiting Spartans scoreless the whole game.

Sophomore Max House started the game and was replaced by Freshman Jacob Conti in the second half.

GCC is now 2-0 in the conference and 2-1 overall on the season, while St. Joseph stands at 1-1 in conference play and 1-3 overall.
