Latrobe's Jordyn Miller and Ligonier Valley's Nick Roddy Win 2020 WCCA Diving Championships

The 2020 Westmoreland County Coaches Association Swimming and Diving Championships kicked off with the diving competition on Friday, January 24, at the Derry Area High School natatorium. Divers from Derry Area, Franklin Regional, Greater Latrobe, Hempfield Area, Ligonier Valley, Mount Pleasant, and Penn-Trafford participated in the 12-round event. Medals were awarded to the top six places in both girls and boys competition. 

Latrobe's Jordyn Miller, last year's runner-up, finished as the girls champion, ahead of teammate Lauren Bisignani and bronze medalist Alison Cowan of Derry. 

On the boys side, Nick Roddy of Ligonier Valley claimed the gold medal for the Rams. Franklin Regional's Carson Yohe moved up to the number two step on the podium from last year's sixth place finish, and Xander Lentz of Penn-Trafford improved his 2019 fifth place finish with a bronze medal finish this year.

The meet continues Saturday at 10 AM with the swimming portion of the championships. We'll have photos and full results online tomorrow evening, after the conclusion of the meet.

1^st place – Jordyn Miller, Greater Latrobe - 462.35

2^nd place – Lauren Bisignani, Greater Latrobe - 417.50

3^rd place – Alison Cowan, Derry Area - 362.60

4^th place – Delaney Lentz, Penn-Trafford - 358.40

5^th place – Marissa Fabac, Penn-Trafford - 342.95

6^th place – Emily Rose, Franklin Regional - 287.80

Boys Medalists

1^st place – Nick Roddy, Ligonier Valley - 418.90

2^nd place – Carson Yohe, Franklin Regional - 412.35

3^rd place – Xander Lentz, Penn-Trafford - 400.60

4^th place – Cameron Washburn, Derry Area - 383.30

5^th place – Clay McClintock, Greater Latrobe - 359.15

6^th place – Jake DePietro, Penn-Trafford - 332.00
