Girls Soccer - Franklin Regional vs Kiski Area
Franklin Regional Girls Soccer Blanks Kiski Area 6-0
A quick strike offense and tight defense set the table for Franklin Regional to roll over Kiski Area 6-0 in a Class 3A Section 1 girls soccer matchup on Thursday, September 30, at Panther Stadium in Murrysville.
A large crowd on Murrysville Area Soccer Association night had barely settled into their seats when sophomore midfielder Lily Funari scored for the Lady Panthers only 67 seconds into the game.
Morgan Walters was next to find the net for the home team as she scored in the 8th minute.
Exactly 3 minutes later it was senior Sydney Lindeman who hit paydirt and Franklin Regional led 3-0 just over 10 minutes into the game.
A pair of goals late in the first half, one by Addison Lacey and another by Morgan Walters took the game into intermission with the Panthers up 5-0.
The scoring pace slowed in the second half, and Panthers head coach Scot Arnold took the opportunity to work deep into his bench. A goal by sophomore Shaeley Reichbaum in the 73rd minute closed out the scoring as the Panthers won 6-0.
Aris Lamanna started in goal for the Panthers and was relieved late in the game by Emily Stroup. Maxine Crobsy guarded the goal all night for the Lady Cavaliers.
