Late Game Pick Six Seals Norwin's 24-14 Win At Hempfield 

Hempfield Township, Pa. - The Hempfield Spartans still had a shot at victory, down 17-14 with the ball and a long field to go and under 2 minutes to play. But quarterback Justin Sliwoski's pass from his own end zone was batted out of the air and grabbed by Norwin's John Piekut, who took it 2 yards into the end zone to seal the victory for the Knights. Norwin lead 10-0 at halftime on Jack Salopek's first quarter touchdown run, and a Carter Breen field goal before the second quarter ended. Hempfield came out strong in the third quarter, scoring on a Justin Sliwoski 4-yard pass to Nick DiAndreth, then adding a 9-yard Sliwoski pass to Isaiah DiAndreth for a 14-10 lead. Jayvon Thrift ran in from 9 yards out midway through the fourth quarter to give the Knights a 17-14 lead that they would not relinquish. Norwin finishes the regular season at 3-3 in the conference, 5-5 overall, and awaits announcement of their opponent in the WPIAL playoffs. Hempfield finishes with a conference record of 0-6, overall 1-9.
