Penn-Trafford Wins Section Title After Rematch With Norwin Ends In 0-0 Draw

North Huntingdon, Pa. - The long-awaited rematch of WPIAL Class 4A Section 4 girls soccer rivals Norwin and Penn-Trafford lived up to the hype, as the teams played to a 0-0, two-overtime draw at Norwin Knights Stadium. The tie gave Penn-Trafford their first section title since 2013, and ended Norwin's title streak at three. Defense was the name of the game as both team played hard and physical, with both goalkeepers making big saves and watching several close shots hit off goal posts to narrowly avoid the net. Sam Wexell was in goal for the Lady Knights and Megan Giesey was in the net for the visiting Lady Warriors. Penn-Trafford runs its conference record to 9-0-1, overall 13-2-1. Norwin's record moves to 8-1-1, overall 12-1-1. 

Over the course of the two games played between the teams this season, 180 total minutes were played with the margin of Penn-Trafford's title being the single goal scored by the Lady Warriors' Lauren Stovar in the rivals' first meeting 16 days ago at Penn-Trafford.
