Jeannette Rebounds with 49-0 Pounding of Monessen in WPIAL Class A Playoffs

Jeannette, Pa. - One week after suffering their only loss of the season at Clairton, Jeannette responded with a 49-0 rout of the Monessen Greyhounds in a WPIAL Class A first round playoff game at McKee Stadium.  Imani Sanders opened the first quarter scoring with an 8-yard touchdown run. Following a Justin Cramer fumble recovery in Monessen territory, Robert Kennedy's scampered 35 yards to make it 14-0 midway through the first quarter. Seth Howard scored from 4 yards out in the final minute of the quarter to make it a 20-0 lead. The first minute of the second quarter opened with Imani Sanders around right end for an 18-yard touchdown, with a two-point conversion making the score 28-0. Less than two minutes later, Robert Kennedy hit Seth Howard crossing the middle for a 49-yard touchdown strike. The first half scoring closed out with Robert Kennedy tossing Tre Cunningham a 43-yard pass which he caught in stride and ran in for the touchdown that made the halftime score 42-0. The second half featured a mercy-ruled running clock, and the Jayhawks added one more touchdown to close out the scoring at 49-0. The 10-1 Jayhawks will play Rochester in the next round of the playoffs. Monessen finishes their season with an overall mark of 3-8.
