Basketball Opens Friday and Saturday with Hempfield Tip-Off Tournament

No sooner will Jeannette close out the Westmoreland County fall sports season on Thursday with their appearance at the Class A state football championship than local basketball play takes to the hardwood. WesternPAsports.com will open winter sports coverage with boys hoops action from Hempfield Area's 13th Annual Tip-off Tournament, December 8 and 9, at Spartan Field House. The host Spartans will be joined by Belle Vernon, Franklin Regional, Greensburg Central Catholic, Penn-Trafford, and Seneca Valley in the two day event. We'll have a blog post with photos and highlights of each day's action after the games, with full photo galleries posted the following day. Tip-off times and scheduled match-ups are posted below.
