WCCA holds inaugural Summer Basketball Shootout at Hempfield High School. (Photo Gallery) 

Thirteen teams participated as the Westmoreland County Coaches Association held their inaugural Basketball Shootout on Friday, July 7, 2017, at Hempfield Area High School. Four courts were used as each team played three games in an event that was designed to get Westmoreland County boys teams together in one place for a day of summer basketball, but not to determine an overall champion for the day. Participating teams were Belle Vernon, Connellsville, Derry, Franklin Regional, Greensburg Salem, Hempfield, Jeannette, Kiski Area, Latrobe, Mt. Pleasant, Norwin, Southmoreland and Valley.
