Boys Basketball - Southmoreland vs Monessen

Monessen Boys Outrun Southmoreland for 81-55 Road Win 

With two teams whose mascots are canine, it's not a surprise that they like to get off the leash and run. When the final horn sounded, Monessen's boys basketball team had lived up to their Greyhound moniker, outracing Southmoreland's Scotties on the scoreboard for an 81-55 win at Southmoreland High School. Monessen's Lyndon Henderson was top dog in the scorebook with 33 points, including a couple of fast-break dunks. Cory Fleming chipped in 15, Elijahwa Smith-Payne 14, and Vaughn Taylor 10 for the Greyhounds. Jason Szatkowski led Southmoreland with 15 points. Cade Richter and Ronnie Robinson added 12 and 10 for the Scotties.  

The non-conference win moves Monessen's record to 10-7 overall. Southmoreland drops their overall record to 4-15.
