Kiski Area Boys Take Freeport to Overtime Before Falling 66-63

In a back-and-forth game that was evenly matched for the first 32 minutes, it seemed appropriate when Kiski Area's Nick Smith's 3-pointer from the corner dropped in at the 4th quarter buzzer, giving fans 4 more minutes to watch the Cavaliers battle Freeport for bragging rights in the neighborhood. But the neighborhood belonged to the Yellowjackets' Isiah Bauman in overtime, as he scored 8 of Freeport's 11 points in the extra stanza, giving the Jackets the 66-63 win before a good crowd on the host Cavaliers home court. Bauman claimed game-high honors with 33 points, as teammate Ben Beale chipped in 18, including a 3-pointer in overtime that was good for the margin of victory. Austin Schwarz led the Cavs with 21 points, with support from Jack Colecchi and Nick Smith who tallied a dozen points each.

The non-conference win bumps Freeport's record to 12-5 overall. Kiski Area drops to 1-18 overall.
