Kiski School blanks Hempfield 7-0 in their Boys Soccer game at Hempfield

Kiski School scored seven unanswered goals to shut out Hempfield, dampening the Spartans Senior Day Festivities. The boys soccer game was played on a chilly autumn Tuesday evening at Spartan Stadium. Kiski School senior Tomas Gusmao got the Cougars on the board when he scored on Hempfield junior goal tender Austin Midlik seven minutes into the game. That first goal turned out to be the only score the Cougars would need on the night. Hempfield managed to keep the visiting Cougars from scoring again until the 23:09 mark of the first half when junior Luis Montas scored the first of his two goals. Both teams exchanged possession for the next 16 minutes of the game until junior Ramses Minaya scored the first of his four goals on the evening. Minaya found the net again with 3:38 left in the first half and the score was 4-0. With a halftime score of 4-0 both teams headed to the locker rooms. When the second half of play began, both teams traded possession of the ball several times over the first nine minutes. Montas scored his second goal of the night at 30:25 of the second half making the score 5-0. Minaya scored his third goal with 19 minutes to go in the game, however, he was not done yet. Minaya earned a haul when he scored for the fourth time with only three minutes to go in the game.  Kiski freshman goal tender Mackai Gittens shut out the Spartans as the Cougars won 7-0. Hempfield’s season record fell to 3-14.
