Girls Lacrosse - Penn-Trafford vs Freeport

Penn-Trafford battles Freeport and snow in 13-3 girls lacrosse win at home 

The calendar said spring but the weather was more suited to a Steelers playoff game in January. Nevertheless, Penn-Trafford and Freeport girls added another layer of clothing to their uniforms and played a girls lacrosse game in snowy conditions that at times totally obscured the lines on the field. In the end, the Lady Warriors prevailed, winning 13-3 over the visiting Lady Yellowjackets from Freeport. 

Penn-Trafford scored first on Alexis Trentini's goal less than two minutes into the game, but Freeport bounced back with the equalizer from Mayce Wonderling with 17:35 remaining in the first half. It was the closest the Lady Yellowjackets would get for the rest of the game. The Lady Warriors scored the next 4 goals to open a 5-1 lead before Freeport scored again to make it 5-2 at the half. Penn-Trafford opened the second half with 4 more unanswered goals to lead 9-2 before Freeport scored their third and final goal of the game. Keeping with the pattern of scoring in 4's, Penn-Trafford added 4 more goals in the final 14 minutes of play to ice the win.

Four was definitely the lucky number of the night for the Lady Warriors, as Alexis Trentini, wearing uniform number 4, scored six goals to lead all scorers, including the first and last goals of the game. Faith Anthony and Kiley Dugan each had a pair of goals for PT, with Karah Thatcher, Haley Pearsol, and Ava Green each adding a goal. Mayce Wonderling scored twice to lead Freeport's scoring with Sophia Hower contributing a goal in the first half. 

Danielle Ochendowski picked up the win in net for Penn-Trafford. Maddy Ravotti was in goal for Freeport.
