Boys Lacrosse - Latrobe vs Canon-McMillan

Latrobe boys lacrosse jumps to 5-0 first half lead, cruises to 10-4 win over Canon-Mac 

Latrobe opened a 5-0 lead in the first half, then added 5 more in the second half as they beat Canon-McMillan in a WPIAL boys lacrosse matchup on Saturday, April 14 at Rossi Field.

Latrobe opened the scoring at 7:41 of the first quarter with a goal by Colvin Stallings. Marco Cuda and Vincent Stallings added goals past Canon-Mac netminder Mike Davis before the quarter closed with the Wildcats up 3-0. Matt Bobula put his name into the scorebook for the Cats with a goal early in the second quarter before Marco Cuda closed out first half scoring with his second marker of the game. 

The Big Macs got on the board at 9:54 of the third quarter with a Sage Sterling goal. The Wildcats responded with a pair of third period goals as Derrick Halula found the net at 6:48, followed quickly by Matt Bobula's second tally of the game 31 seconds later. Logan Gebhart scored for Canon-Mac before the third period came to a close with the Wildcats leading 7-2. Latrobe opened the final quarter with goals from Jarred Stein and Luke Stein over just an 18 second span to make it 9-2. Jake Rumbaugh scored for the Big Macs midway through the quarter before Latrobe's Marco Cuda completed his hat trick on a goal with 3:45 remaining. Canon-McMillan's Sage Sterling closed out the scoring with his second of the game in the final minute of play.

Paul Solomon picked up the win in goal for the Wildcats.
