Girls Lacrosse - Franklin Regional vs Plum

Franklin Regional Girl’s Lacrosse beats Plum 14-2 in their final regular WPIAL season home game.

It was only fitting that a pair of Franklin Regional seniors would open the scoring for the Lady Panthers on Senior Night against the visiting Plum Mustangs. Attacker Francesca Giacchino opened the scoring with the first of her two goals shortly after the flowers, balloons and parents were removed from the field following Senior night festivities. However senior midfielder Angie Giannangeli wasn’t about to let Giacchino steal the show so she scored the second goal on the evening not long after and the Lady Panthers were off and running on a high scoring rout of the Plum Mustangs. Franklin Regional scored 10 goals in the first half and took a comfortable 10-1 lead into halftime.
Midfielder Noelle Boyd lead all Lady Panthers in scoring with a four goal performance and Giannangeli added two more goals in her final regular season game. Underclassmen Lauren Callahan scored a pair of goals and Christina Hodowanec added a hat trick in the lopsided 14-2 victory. Plum’s Samantha Casile and Tifani McElhose each scored once.Kendra Delissio earned the victory in goal for Franklin Regional only allowing two goals on the evening.
