Ligonier Valley's Michael Marinchak Drops 41 on Purchase Line in 91-60 Victory

Eight seconds after the opening tipoff between Ligonier Valley and visiting Purchase Line, Michael Marinchak scored to put the Rams in the lead 2-0. Thirty-one minutes and fifty-two seconds later, the number 91 was showing on the Ligonier Valley side of the scoreboard and the line next to Marinchak's name in the official scorebook tallied 41. The junior guard, who dropped 14 and 13 points respectably in the first two quarters, led Ligonier Valley's offensive juggernaut as they rolled over Purchase Line 91-60 in front of the Rams' home crowd. Marinchak finished the game with seven 3-pointers, with some that seemed to have been launched from as far away as Route 30. 

Purchase Line kept it close with Ligonier Valley early on, ending the first quarter trailing only 21-14. The second quarter, however, was another story. The Rams raced to a 48-22 halftime lead, outscoring Purchase Line 27-8 in the second frame. A 22-point third quarter by Purchase Line only shaved one point from the Rams' margin, and Ligonier Valley closed out the contest by outscoring Purchase Line 22-16 in the final quarter for their 10th win in a row. 

In addition to Michael Marinchak's 41 point night, Marrek Paola had 20 for the Rams and Matthew Marinchak added 10. Purchase Line was led by Dom Campbell with 24 and Jacob Barnett with 19. 

Ligonier Valley improves to 15-1, while Purchase Line moves their record to 10-4.
