GCC Girls Fall 62-51 in Non-Conference Game with Plum 

Greensburg Central Catholic's girls jumped out to an early 14-4 lead on Plum, but the Lady Mustangs soon found their stride, outscoring the Lady Centurions 58-37 the rest of the way, while galloping to a 62-51 win in a non-conference battle at GCC's gym on Carbon.  

GCC, which plays in Class 1A, struggled with the size of the Class 5A Mustangs, as Plum controlled the backboards, often scoring on third and fourth chance rebounds. GCC's 14-7 first quarter lead turned into a 29-26 Plum advantage at halftime, with the Mustangs' Kennedie Montue scoring 10 and Kelsi Zik 8 in the second quarter. Plum pulled away in the second half with a 33-25 scoring advantage to seal the win on the road.

Plum was lead by Kennedie Montue with a game-high 37 points, as Kelsi Zik chipped in for 11. Bella Skatell led GCC with 22, and Melina Maietta was right behind with 21. The win evens Plum's record at 7-7, while GCC suffered only their second loss of the season, both to a higher classification opponent, as their record falls to 12-2 overall.
