Derry Girls Head Into Holidays with 50-36 Non-Conference Win Over Homer-Center

A fifteen point third quarter performance was the spark Derry's girls needed as they pulled away from Homer-Center for victory in a non-conference game on Friday, December 20, at Derry Area High School. 

Derry opened strong, posting a 15-9 first quarter advantage, but the Lady Wildcats turned the tables in the second, outscoring the Lady Trojans 17-9 to take a 26-24 lead at halftime. 

The rest of the game belonged to Derry, as they outscored the Wildcats 15-5 in the third, and 12-5 in the final quarter, notching the 50-36 win for first year coach Gene Brisbane's Trojans.

Tiana Moracco led Derry with 18 points, followed by Kamryn Kelly with 13. Kennedy Page led Homer-Center with 14 points. 

Derry goes into the holidays with a 4-3 overall record, and picks up section play again on January 3 at Shady Side Academy, sporting a 2-1 conference record.
