Ava Hershberger Hat Trick Lifts Penn-Trafford Field Hockey to 4-1 Win at Latrobe

Freshman Ava Hershberger scored in three out of four quarters as the Penn-Trafford Warriors beat the Greater Latrobe Wildcats 4-1 in a field hockey match on Wednesday, October 21, at Latrobe's Rossi Field in Unity Township.  

Hershberger's first goal came with 10:22 to play in the first quarter. She followed that up with another goal at 2:12 to play in the second, giving Penn-Trafford a 2-0 halftime lead.

Senior Allyson Doran was next for the Lady Warriors as she scored early in the third quarter with her only goal of the game at the 13:41 mark. Hershberger made it 4-0 in the final quarter with her third marker at the 10:20 mark. 

Lauren Jones broke up the shutout for Latrobe with her goal with 1:04 remaining in the game, ending the scoring in a 4-1 win for the visiting Warriors.

Latrobe's season came to an end with this game when their home game scheduled for Thursday against Hempfield was canceled. Penn-Trafford plays one more game on Thursday, hosting Norwin.
