Greensburg Central Catholic Girls cruise past rival Jeannette 83-15 on their home court.
Greensburg Central Catholic’s Bailey Kuhns won the tip off against Jeannette’s Jordan Bass and then opened the scoring when she hit a field goal 14 seconds into the game giving the Lady Centurions a lead they would never give up.
Greensburg Central Catholic capitalized on a number of Jeannette turnovers in the opening period scoring 25 points before allowing Jeannette to register their first points of the evening 5 minutes into their WPIAL Class 2A Section 4 contest.
The Lady Centurions continued to dominate the Jayhawks during the opening half of play, taking a commanding 60-8 lead into halftime.
GCC continued to distance themselves from the Jayhawks building a daunting 70-11 lead after three periods of play.
Junior Bailey Kuhns led all scorers with an impressive 31-point performance.
Fellow junior Laura Kondas added 14 points and freshman Mya Morgan chipped in with 10 points in the lopsided 83-15 victory.
Jeannette’s Zoey Vincent led the Jayhawks with 10 points.
GCC improved to 2-2 in the conference and 6-3 on the season.
Jeannette remains winless on the season, falling to 0-12 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The two teams will square off again next week as the Centurions will travel to Jeannette on February 16.
