GCC Girls Hoops Rolls Over Jeannette 66-31 in Pre-Christmas Matinee

Greensburg Central Catholic scored early and often as they beat Jeannette 66-31 in a Saturday afternoon, December 22, girls basketball matchup at GCC's gym. The rival schools used to play in the same conference, but now GCC is Class 1A and Jeannette Class 2A. The game was the first half of a doubleheader, with the two schools' boys teams playing immediately following the girls.

GCC jumped out to a first quarter lead of 27-9, and stretched it to 46-17 at the half. A running clock went into effect during the third quarter, which ended with the Lady Centurions up 66-23. The Lady Jayhawks added 8 points in the fourth quarter for a final score of 66-31.

GCC was led by Melina Maietta's 25 points, with Bella Skatell and Anna Eisaman both chipping in for 17. Dymond Crawford's 11 points were top for Jeannette with Jada Bass adding 9 for the Jayhawks. 

GCC is 6-0 on the season heading into the Christmas break. Jeannette's record drops to 2-5.
