Penn Trafford Shuts Out Conference Rival Hempfield 4-0 in WPIAL Class 4A Girls Soccer

Hempfield goalie Gillian Bierhals held Penn Trafford scoreless through the first 26 minutes of their WPIAL Class 4A Section 3 girls soccer match on a pleasant evening under the lights at Spartan Stadium in Hempfield on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018. Penn Trafford senior Kiley Dugan put the visiting Lady Warriors on the board by scoring the only goal of the first half with 14 minutes left. Penn Trafford made some adjustments at halftime and took only a minute into the second half to score again when senior Jordan Lawrence found the net, and the Lady Warriors extended their lead to 2-0. Penn Trafford junior Christina DeLuca added a third goal when she scored with about 26 minutes to go in the game. Freshman Malia Kearns finished the scoring by adding the team's fourth goal with under 8 minutes to go in the game. Lady Warriors Sarah Nguyen (2), Kiley Dugan and Alexis Garia all had assists in the game.  Penn Trafford junior goal tender Megan Giesey held the Lady Spartans scoreless on the night.
