Latrobe Boys Ride Butler's 29 Points in Cruising to 80-51 Win over Norwin

There was no mystery as to who led the beating of the visiting Norwin Knights in Latrobe on Friday, January 11. The Butler did it. 

Latrobe opened up a 15-point first quarter lead, then capitalized on a 20-point first half by senior Bryce Butler, cruising to a 80-51 win in the cozy confines of the Latrobe High School gym.

The teams traded the lead a couple of times in the early minutes before Latrobe went on a furious scoring flurry, ending the opening period with a 29-14 advantage. Bryce Butler scored 8 of the Wildcats' 15 second quarter points as Latrobe took a 44-27 lead to the locker room at halftime. Norwin made a run at the Cats in the third period, outscoring Latrobe 18-16 and bringing the third to a close down 60-45. But the Wildcats turned up the heat again in the final quarter, outscoring the Knights 20-6, and rolling to a 80-51 win. 

The Latrobe margin of victory, 29 points, was also leading scorer Bryce Butler's output for the night, with Reed Fenton joining him in double figures with 15. Jayden Walker's 15 points led Norwin, with Ty Bilinsky adding 13 and Logan Liebdzinski good for 11. 

Latrobe's win improves their record to 4-0 in Class 6A Section 3 play, with their overall record standing at 11-2. Norwin's loss drops them to 1-3 in section play and a 6-5 record overall.
