Latrobe Girls LAX Rolls in 16-6 Win at Greensburg Salem

Latrobe opened with six unanswered goals in the first 8 minutes, then added 10 more for good measure as they beat Greensburg Salem 16-6 in an early evening girls lacrosse matchup on the sun drenched turf of Offutt Field in Greensburg. 

Latrobe's Ainsley Novotny put the Lady Wildcats on the board 24 seconds after the opening faceoff, then quickly racked up a hat trick with two more goals only 2:07 into the contest. Latrobe continued their goal-a-minute pace as they put a half dozen on the board in the first six minutes. Sasha Vogel broke the ice for Greensburg Salem on a goal with 16:13 left in the first half. Latrobe answered with Eve O"Sullivan's eventual game-winning goal and went up 7-1 before the Lady Lions scored a pair 47 seconds apart, closing the gap to 7-3 at the 10:07 mark. It was as close as they would get to the Wildcats for the rest of the game. Two more goals for the Wildcats and one for the Lions gave Latrobe a 9-4 lead at the intermission.

The second half was all about Latrobe as they scored the first seven goals in the half, opening a 16-4 margin on a running game clock before the Lions scored around the 6:15 mark. Greensburg Salem added one more in the final 90 seconds to close the scorebook with the 16-6 Latrobe victory. 

Latrobe's Ainsley Novotny added a second half goal to her opening hat trick to lead all scorers with 4. Eve O'Sullivan and Lauren Willner both found the net three times for the Wildcats. The Lady Lions were led by Sasha Vogel and Autumn Sarsfield with a pair of goals each. Emily Hoffman got the win in goal for Latrobe while Beck Handke guarded the net for Greensburg Salem.
