Peters Township Boys Lacrosse Uses Big Second Half to Beat Norwin 12-5 

It was close, for twenty eight minutes. Norwin trailed by a single goal early in the second half before Peters Township scored six unanswered goals in a row to beat Norwin 12-5 on April 9 at Norwin Knights Stadium.

Colin Pakela got it started for Peters Township with a goal just over a minute into the game. Gabe Maloni added onto the Indians lead with just over 8 minutes left in the first quarter, making the score 2-0. Hunter Geibel put the Knights on the board with his goal at 5:48 left in the quarter. The Indians' Michael Vilsack closed out the first quarter score at 3-1 on his goal just 11 seconds later.

Vilsack got his second marker at 31 seconds into the second quarter. Norwin followed up with Daniel Good's his first goal of the game, followed quickly by Vilsack recording a hat trick with his third in a row for the Indians. Geibel snuck in his second goal with only 23.8 seconds left in the second quarter, and the half ended with the Knights trailing 5-3.

Norwin came out hot in the second half, and within the first minute and a half, Geibel claimed his hat trick and the Knight were only down by one. That's when Peters Township regained the momentum and never gave it up. Four different Indians scored in the third - Aidan McCall, Vilsack, Maloni, and Brady Seekely - and suddenly the Peters Township lead was 9-4. 

The final quarter was owned the Indians' Pakela, who scored three more times before the clock ran out. Good's second goal for the Knights four minutes into the final quarter wasn't enough to spark a comeback, and Peters Township prevailed with the 12-5 win. 

Colin Pakela and Michael Vilsack shared game-high honors with their four goals each. Hunter Geibel's three goal performance made him the top scorer for the Knights. Liam O'Neill got the win in the net for Peters Township, and Nolan Mullen had net coverage for Norwin.
