Norwin Boys Soccer Grabs 5-1 Win at Latrobe

Norwin put five different players in the scorebook as they picked up a 5-1 win over Latrobe in a WPIAL Class 4A Section 3 boys soccer game at Latrobe's Rossi Field.

The Knights got on the scoreboard early when Riley Zimmerman slid a shot past Latrobe keeper Tanner Sabol in the 3rd minute. Norwin's Caleb Yuricha added the only other goal of the first half with just 16.4 ticks left on the clock before intermission, and the Knights led 2-0.

Neither team scored again until the 60 minute mark when a trio of goals hit the twine within a span of 46 seconds. First was Matt Federovich for Norwin, followed by Latrobe's Ryan Banks 29 seconds later, then Norwin's Micah Yuricha 17 seconds after that. The result was a 4-1 Norwin lead, which held until Nathan Bown closed out scoring for Norwin with his header out of the crowd off a corner kick in the 74th minute, setting up the final score of 5-1.

Andy Yurez got the win in goal for the Knights. Tanner Sabol played the entire game in net for the Wildcats, and had several dramatic saves in the losing effort.

Norwin's record jumps to 5-0-1 overall, 2-0-1 in conference play. Latrobe drops to 0-3-0 in conference and overall.
