Norwin Girls Soccer Cruises to 6-0 Win at Latrobe

Norwin continued their blemish-free start to the season, moving their record to 3-0, with a 6-0 conference win at Latrobe on Monday, Sept. 9. The 2017 state champion Lady Knights offense peppered Latrobe goal keeper Sofia DeCerb with shots all night while their defense kept the Lady Wildcats from causing any damage in the Knights end. Decerb made several good saves but the Knights' firepower was just too much to stop on every shot.  

Lacey Bernick put the Lady Knights' first point on the board at the 31:19 mark of the first half with a goal to the left of DeCerb. Katelyn Kauffman tallied Norwin's second goal at 18:43 left in the half, while Lacy Bernick added her second marker of the game with 5:18 remaining in the half. Latrobe had very few opportunities to get deep in the Norwin end in the first half and failed to get on the board before the half ended with Norwin leading 3-0.  

Norwin matched their first half output in the second half, starting with a Megan Dietz goal barely five minutes into the half. Melaina Walker got the Lady Knights fifth goal, knocking it in out of a crowd in front of the net following a corner kick with 24:32 to play. Norwin's final goal from Morgan Sigut came with 14:09 remaining to give Knights goal keeper Liz Waszkiewicz the shutout at 6-0. 

Norwin's 3-0 season record is all in conference play. Latrobe has a 0-2 conference record, 1-3 overall.
