Greensburg Salem Boys Celebrate Senior Night with 2-1 Win over Albert Gallatin

Victories have been in short supply for the Greensburg Salem boys soccer program this season, but if you're going to get a 'W' there is no better time than at home on the night that you honor your senior players. The Golden Lions did just that, taking a 2-1 first half lead and keeping the Colonials stymied in the second half to chalk up a senior night victory on Wednesday, October 14, at Offutt Field in Greensburg.

Greensburg Salem junior Mike Edwards got the Lions on the board first with his point-blank shot goal past Colonials goalkeeper Kevin Thompson with 13 minutes elapsed in the game.

Albert Gallatin tied the score with 17:25 to play in the half as junior Bailey Holbert headed a shot past Lions' keeper Patrick Galvin to even things up.

The game winner for Greensburg Salem came from Edwards again, as he booted a left-footed kick past the reach of Thompson with 10:26 to play in the half. It was the last time either team would score over the final 50 minutes, and the Golden Lions claimed the 2-1 win for their seniors.

Prior to the game, Greensburg Salem recognized seniors Andrew Edwards, Garret Cribbs, Wyatt Ramer, Tanner Dobrosky, and Elijah Houston in a brief ceremony.

Greensburg Salem (3-10-0) plays their final home game of the season on Monday against Ringgold. Albert Gallatin (2-10-0) has a game at Uniontown scheduled for October 17.
